Strong Family Foundations Project
We have been funded by the National Institutes of Health to offer parent workshops that help couples expecting their first child to prepare for parenting. The program is led by researchers at the Rochester Institute of Technology, University at Buffalo, and the Pennsylvania State University. These workshops are intended to provide first-time parents the chance to connect with other expecting parents, work together as a parenting team, and support their child’s growth and development.
Study on Health and Regulating Emotions (SHARE)
In collaboration with the Health and Addictions Research Center, the SHARE Project is focused on understanding various familial dynamics and the cascading impact they may have on regulatory functioning. Particularly, we are interested in identifying how health and the experience of emotions is associated within families.
Family Experiences and Relationships
The Family Experiences and Relationships project evaluates associations among family/peer relationships and health and social behaviors among adolescents. We are examining daily interactions within families to help inform the role that day-to-day interactions within an adolescent’s life can influence their social and health behavior.
