The Healthcare Analytics Lab at RIT, directed by Dr. Nasibeh Azadeh-Fard, focused on applying advanced analytics techniques to healthcare data to generate insights and inform decision-making.

Dr. Azadeh-Fard’s main research areas include data analytics, healthcare systems engineering, risk analysis, early warning systems, and performance measurement and analysis. She applies quantitative analytical methods and machine learning techniques to improve healthcare delivery.

The objectives of the Healthcare Analytics Lab are to:

  1. Conduct innovative research in healthcare analytics: The lab aims to produce high-quality research that advances the field of healthcare analytics. This includes developing new algorithms, models, and tools for analyzing healthcare data, as well as exploring emerging areas such as machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  2. Train the next generation of healthcare analytics researchers: The lab provides opportunities for undergraduate, M.Sc. and PhD students to gain hands-on experience in healthcare analytics research. This includes conducting independent research projects, collaborating on interdisciplinary teams, and presenting research findings at academic conferences.
  3. Foster collaboration with healthcare organizations: The lab aims to build relationships with healthcare organizations, including Rochester Regional Health (RRH) and University of Rochester, School of Medicine and Dentistry (UR Medicine), to collaborate on research projects and translate research findings into practical solutions that can improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
