The Hudson Lab trains and mentors the next generation of scientists to solve today’s problems in addition to preparing them to tackle and solve emerging scientific problems.

Dedicated to addressing the problem of antibiotic resistance, Dr. André O. Hudson and his group focus their research on identifying and characterizing novel antibiotic lead compounds. They use techniques and approaches from biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics, genomics, and microbiology. In addition, the lab has ongoing projects addressing various aspects of amino acid metabolism, microbial genomics, and plastic degradation.

As an academician, it is my solemn duty to not only educate students but to inspire them to embark on a journey towards a destination that I don’t even know exist. It is my hope that they will then in turn, pay it forward.

    Saturday Math Academy offers extra help

    The program is a supplemental instruction session offered to all RIT students looking for one-on-one help for introductory math courses. The program aims to boost mathematics understanding across campus since all students must take a math course to complete their degrees.

    André Hudson named AAAS fellow

    RIT College of Science Dean André Hudson has been named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), as announced by the organization’s council.
