Beneath the Permafrost
The exhibit is showing off the video game Beneath the Permafrost, a survival-horror game set in a frozen, apocalyptic setting. It will feature a demo of the game on computers (either our own laptops or lab computers if such a space is available) that visitors can play. Both developers (my collaborator and I) will be present to discuss the project with viewers and manage the demo. There will also be pamphlets containing further information, ways to follow the game's progress, and a variety of art done for the game. The game demo encompasses the introduction and tutorial areas, with mechanics such as exploration, enemies, combat, inventory management, temperature management, and more. Playtime will be limited to around 15 minutes maximum per player. Visitors are welcome to view it as others are playing.
