CampusPulse Access Map

Location

Gordon Field House and Activities Center (GOR/024) - Main Floor

Access points at RIT, such as elevators, automatic door buttons, and wheelchair lifts, are frequent victims of wear and tear and service failures, but often go unreported due to the complex and time consuming process of reporting to FMS. As such, RIT community members who rely on these technologies often don’t know if one is broken until they are confronted by the inaccessibility in person, leading to tardiness and undue fatigue. The CampusPulse Access Map is a digital map and catalog made to view out-of-service access points, aid in wayfinding, and quickly report broken access points around campus. The map will flag any broken access points for easy viewing in real time. To look for a specific point, visitors can utilize the comprehensive tagging system to sort through technologies, buildings, location types, and more. Once they find what they’re looking for, our catalog will have each point’s image, location, room number, alternatives, and most importantly, an incredibly quick form to easily report that point to FMS and the map. Visitors can sign up for email notifications from specific points or general access updates to stay up to date on their routes to class. CampusPulse Access aims to bridge the information gap between students and faculty to foster collaboration and create a more accessible RIT.
