The Consumer Behavior Silent Disco
The description in the next box answers most of this, but I'll be more elaborate here: This exhibition will be held in a large room (Ideally, the 4th floor of Max Lowenthal Hall). All the tables and chairs will be cleared to create a "dance floor" for people to dance in the middle of the room. (If RIT has an actual floor that can be set up, even better- but not needed). We will (if we are approved for such a budget) rent all the necessary headphones and DJ equipment from a local Rochester vendor. Students from the Consumer Behavior class will curate specific playlists for each channel and act as the DJs for the event; these playlists should stimulate "consumer behavior" of people switching channels. Imagine RIT guests will be invited to rotate in and out of the dance party to get an observation of "consumer behavior in action."
