First Robotics Showcase

We will create an environment to encourage engineering involvement in audience members of all ages. This will allow them to drive, interact, and ask questions about the robots and the program. The goal is to attract FIRST Alum to RIT, as well as support and promote FIRST programs like FIRST Lego League, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FIRST Robotics Competition. We need a space for the robots to move, surrounded by tables or a barrier, so there is a safe viewing area and room to display parts or information. We plan to invite some FIRST teams to bring their demonstration bots and create interest in engineering. Access to power for battery charging and any computer displays would be needed, as well as for driver controls for the robots. In the past, the exhibition has gotten a roughly 35x45' area in the Clark Gym, which has always done well. Our goal is to bring in the different levels of FIRST, having information for all ages and experience levels.
