Games, Crafts, More!

Location

Student Hall for Exploration and Development (SHD/011) - 1300

Visit the Wehrheim Gallery in the SHED to try your hand at 19th-century games and crafts with costumed interpreters from Genesee Country Village & Museum. We'll have beading, paper dolls, coloring sheets -- crafts that are evocative of past and present, as well as leisure activities of the 19th Century and their connection to society and technology. These include jackstraws, cup-and-ball, the whimmy-diddle, buzz saw, and much more. It was a lot of fun last year, and we look forward to being able to collaborate again this year. This exhibit celebrates our university partnership with GCV&M in Mumford, and is centrally located near our exhibit space in the SHED.

Jackstraws, cup-and-ball, the whimmy-diddle, buzz saw are among several games from past and present featured in this exhibit.
