Glass Art Student Exhibition

Location

James E. Booth Hall - 3730 Hallway

The Glass Art Student Exhibition will be a pop-up art gallery style exhibition that will feature between seven and ten artworks made and professionally installed by students within the glass department. Spanning the length of the hallway outside of the RIT Glassblowing studio located in Booth hall, the exhibition will be a culmination of works that fall within the contemporary glass art movement and use photo, video, installation, and functional vessels to create thoughtful dialogue. The pieces chosen will be curated by the graduate students in the glass department, and all of the work featured will have been made on campus in order to highlight the scope of the RIT glass facilities. Guests of the RIT campus and students exploring all of the different Imagine exhibits will have the ability to view artwork and ask questions about the artist’s intention or artistic process in ways that are usually impossible in a normal gallery setting. Our hope is to connect the exciting world of glass to communities that may not have access to it otherwise, all the while showcasing the hard work and dedication of our students here at RIT.
