HCD HUB
Location
Gordon Field House and Activities Center (GOR/024) - Main Floor
There is a growing need for a dedicated digital platform and web server within the Humanities, Computing, and Design (HCD) program at RIT to showcase/host capstone projects, share important updates, and manage documents relevant to the major. Additionally, RIT web servers like Solace and Banjo, while functional, do not adequately address specific needs of HCD students and staff, and lack the tailored features and long-term stability that the program requires. HCD Hub bridges this gap by providing a two-part solution: a customizable, student-updated portal (front-end) and a student-run web hosting platform (back-end). The front-end interface will serve as a place to display work, and stay updated with HCD-related news, sign up for tutoring and access to shared spaces such as the discord and lab. Together, these components will create a centralized space for curating, showcasing, and celebrating the accomplishments of the HCD community. Visitors are able to experience both the physical and digital exhibitions of the current HCD capstone projects at Imagine RIT. Users will be able to navigate through the website, view our project’s timeline spanning multiple years/attempts of HCD alumni building this website, and learn more about the Humanities, Computing, and Design major as an opportunity to study in an interdisciplinary field.
