The Magic and Wonder of Go

Location

Campus Center - 1010

Exhibit objective: We want to convey within a minute or two that Go rules are very easy to understand. Just with those simple rules, you can spend the time playing a game that can become increasingly complex and interesting as your skills advance. Some say that it can be even more challenging than Chess. Exhibit layout: We will have various boards set up with certain board positions/problems. We will introduce people to the game by explaining the rules and some of its long history. We will then demonstrate several clever techniques to capture stones. Visitors will have the opportunity to play Go against each other, if they so choose. Exhibit result: They would have been introduced to the game of Go and perhaps glimpsed at its beauty and magic!
