The Engineering House Mustang has been a continuous project, starting around 5 years ago, before the pandemic. Founded by Engineering House student Hunter Leonard, it has been a way for Engineering House students to apply their skills to a competitive yet fun project. Since its initial creation, it has undergone many iterations, this current one has been built with an entirely new body, and exists alongside one of the older models, which is now owned by an Engineering House Alumni. The creation of the new vehicle came after a year-long hiatus due to a temporary inability to use our on-floor workshop. The construction of the new vehicle was led by second-year students Luke Reller and Cameron Goya, with help from freshmen Engineering House members. The 2024 Mustang was entered into two events of the Power Racing Series, travelling down to the Sussex County Maker Faire, and to Pittsburgh, being highly competitive at both events, taking home a medal from each, joining the numerous medals collected by the EH Mustang team from years past. The project teaches our students how to collaborate and work as a team, in addition to skills such as mechanical and electrical knowledge, design, and craftsmanship.
