RIT American Welding Society Student Chapter

The RIT AWS Student Chapter is excited to share our accomplishments since our foundation in the Spring of 2024. In just one year, we've managed to take on 4 student-led welding projects, of which are displayed at our exhibit. Each of the groups has a representative that can tell you more about their project, how it was designed and engineered, the welding skills that were developed as a result, and how the club has supported their success. Secondly, the founders of the club make up the current E-Board. To commemorate their hard work, they have designed a metal-worked decorative sign to be displayed and would love to share what it took to get the club where it is. In collaboration with the local Rochester AWS Section and welding company, Rochester Arc & Flame, we will have Virtual Reality Welding! The VR Welding headset allows you to practice MIG welding and recieve feedback for improvement without needing all the equipment and PPE. Lastly, to give visitors a more meaningful experience, they will be able to design a 2"x3" keychain on paper that we will then weld for the visitor to keep
