The RIT Drumline

The RIT Drumline is an indoor, competitive, marching percussion ensemble that performs annually in the New York State Percussion Circuit competition series in the spring semester. Throughout the fall, we work on both musical and visual technique while beginning to learn our show music. In the spring semester, we put our show together and perform at various competitions in the area. Our ensemble features two sections, a front ensemble consisting of mallet percussion, auxiliary percussion, and synth, and a battery, featuring snare, bass, and tenor drums. This year, our show is called From Silence, a performance that aims to recognize the power of voice, unification, and the wonder that comes with building and creating something out of nothing. We plan to perform the show, as well as other fun songs, at Imagine RIT, so that we can give visitors an enjoyable experience full of upbeat percussion music they can jam to.
