Location

Gordon Field House and Activities Center (GOR/024) - Main Floor

The RIT K-12 University Center creates transformative opportunities youth and educators on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics -- also known as STEAM, to inspire, engage, and prepare the next generation of innovators and creative thinkers. RIT K-12 fosters collaborations among the university, K-12 schools, industry and communities to create high-quality education and workforce development experiences that will shape the game-changing, problem-solvers of the future. RIT K-12 aims to strengthen its impact by providing access and supporting pathways to academic and career success. During Imagine RIT, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about current research, programs, and initiatives from youth participants and staff. High school and Middle School youth will showcase the research projects they have completed this year with RIT faculty and staff. Visitors will get a chance to hear about the RIT Science Technology Entry Programs (STEP), RIT Liberty Partnership Programs (LPP), Campus Experiences, STEAM Saturday Program, School Partnerships, AEOP-Fellowships and Internships, and RIT's oldest and most robust day camp, Camp Tiger. This dynamic exhibit has a variety of fun STEAM hands-on learning and make-and-take activities. See the visual montage depicting the variety of programs taking place with RIT K-12. Youth complete the "Youth Experience Passport" and receive a Imagine RIT festival patch or sticker. There is something for all ages to enjoy, as visitors learn about the exciting RIT K-12 initiatives in the greater Rochester area and beyond.
