Our project is based around the NASA Deep Space Food Challenge, which will be starting up again in Fall 2025. The goal is to design an autonomous food system that can help fill food gaps for a crew of 4 astronauts. Our project is a bioreactor designed to grow an algae (cyanobacteria) called Spirulina. An MSD project last summer and fall semester worked on the presented design. Visitors will be able to see the reactor and algae under the microscope!
