"Seeing" the Sounds of Biodiversity

Sounds of various animals, birds, and insects from wild areas in Madagascar, Kenya, Malaysia, and Ecuador can be played back and also visualized. Methods for using AI/Machine Learning to automatically extract the sounds are described. This work is part of faculty research ongoing in the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science.
