Time Card for Precision Space Applications

Location

Gordon Field House and Activities Center (GOR/024) - Main Floor

Ever wonder how satellites keep precise time in the vastness of space? Time synchronization is critical for communications, position interpolation, and scientific experiments in orbit. This exhibit demonstrates a Space Time Card, a customizable timekeeping system. This will include a demonstration of our time card synchronizing with a GNSS signal (time data) from a satellite, and then providing its own onboard time data within "hold over". (We potentially will have a demonstration of the importance of timing.)
