‘Strong Arm’ exhibit focuses on back injuries
Strong Arm helps users lift heavy objects while lowering risk of injury
Justin Hillery and Sean Petterson want to hear about your back injuries.
The undergraduates are interviewing Imagine RIT visitors about their back problems and then projecting those interviews on the wall to show the value of a lifting device they have invented.
“If you have a back injury, you can recall exactly how it happened,” says Hillery, a third-year multidisciplinary studies major.
The students’ device is called Strong Arm, which is a vest that helps workers lift objects while lowering the risk of injury. The interviews will eventually be compiled into a documentary.
Look for Hillery, Petterson and their Strong Arm vest today in the Gordon Field House and Activities Center.
