Emphasizing the manufacturing of material systems with multifunctional capabilities for their use in restoring functionality of damaged tissue and as a means of localized drug delivery for treatment of aggressive diseases.

Research Interests: utilizing directed energy deposition to overcome limitations of traditional manufacturing technologies. Specifically, remanufacturing of steel and cast iron components and understanding the resultant material properties is of interest. I am also interested in developing in-situ monitoring technologies for additive manufacturing platforms.
