Design of efficient and reliable processes for the bulk fabrication of biomaterials. Emphasizing the manufacturing of material systems with multifunctional capabilities for their use in restoring functionality of damaged tissue and as a means of localized drug delivery for treatment of aggressive diseases.

Research Interests: utilizing directed energy deposition to overcome limitations of traditional manufacturing technologies. Specifically, remanufacturing of steel and cast iron components and understanding the resultant material properties is of interest. I am also interested in developing in-situ monitoring technologies for additive manufacturing platforms.
