Osher at RIT offers summer classes
Register before July 6 for variety of courses with discounted summer membership rate
Just because it’s summer vacation doesn’t mean school is out.
Thinkers age 50 and beyond will be able to explore a number of fascinating programs for a discounted rate this summer at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Rochester Institute of Technology.
The special summer membership rate of $75 will allow class goers to take any of the 12 eight-week courses and eight one-session courses, which run July 6–Aug. 26.
The Monday and Wednesday eight-week classes, offered between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., include topics varying from Understanding the Human Brain to George Orwell and the Spanish Civil War to Good Golly! It’s Bolly! Summer Blockbusters!, a study of Bollywood movies. The full list of summer classes can be seen in the Osher 2015 Summer Catalog.
“Summer is great time for teachers, professors and others who have a summer break to come in and learn something different in a relaxed atmosphere,” said Osher Council Chair Nita Genova.
In addition to the eight-week courses, summer members can participate in one-session courses on a variety of topics, including Windows 8.1 and Securing Your Computer, WWII Military Technology and Worlds Fairs of the 19th Century. Other perks of Osher summer membership include several lectures and trips.
More information about full membership and benefits can be found at the RIT Osher Lifelong Learning Institute website. Osher is located at the Athenaeum Building, 50 Fairwood Drive, Henrietta, N.Y.
Registration for the 2015 summer session begins June 23. Register by mail, by phone at 585-292-8989 or online on the OSHER online registration page.
