RIT appoints new member to Board of Trustees
RIT alumna Hyacinth “Hope” V. Drummond to help guide the university toward its strategic goals
Rochester Institute of Technology appointed the newest member of its Board of Trustees during a board meeting held on May 4.
Hyacinth “Hope” V. Drummond, an RIT alumna who earned her Bachelor of Science in business administration-marketing from RIT in 1991, will help guide the university toward achieving the goals of its strategic plan, “Greatness Through Difference.”
Drummond worked at Eastman Kodak Co. for 15 years before leaving to become more involved in the nonprofit and philanthropic communities. In 1999, Drummond and her husband, Lance, began the Dreamseeds Children’s Programs, which provide arts instruction and activities for children at Sojourner House at PathStone, a shelter that serves homeless women and children in Rochester. Drummond now sits on the boards of directors for Sojourner House at Pathstone and the Morrison YMCA in Charlotte, N.C. In addition, she serves as an advisory member of the Rochester Jamaican Organization and is executive member for the Jamaican American Cultural Association.
The RIT Board of Trustees consists of 50 active trustees and 30 trustees of emeritus or honorary status.
