What's not to love about toads? They have dry skin, warts, crests behind their eyes, and parotoid glands. They produce a secretion that helps to defend from predators and avoid being eaten. They blend into their surroundings to escape detection and yet can puff up their bodies in an attempt to look bigger and inedible if a predator is nearby.
