Bio

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Hi there! I’m Ana Paolini Carrano, and I’m a first-year Biochemistry BS student. I’m originally from Venezuela, but I’ve lived most of my life in Miami, FL. I’m involved within the College of Science through COSSAB and COS ALANA. Outside of my academic pursuits, I’m usually playing the trumpet, doing arts and crafts, or simply hanging out with friends.

Platform

The College of Science has hundreds of students focused on a wide array of goals. Achieving these goals can become significantly easier when there is a widespread sense of community and support within the College. If elected, my primary goal will be to foster a stronger community within the College of Science. Part of this will be done by focusing on increasing student’s awareness and participation in clubs and organizations. Through increasing events where multiple clubs are involved, students can learn of the different opportunities available without feeling overwhelmed. I also aim to facilitate and increase the functionality of the club-council meetings, a valuable resource reinstated by the previous senator. This will help club leaders work together to find the resources they need and allow me to advocate for their and their member’s needs. Additionally, many resources within campus such as academic support, career development, and mental health support are often underutilized. I will work to increase awareness of the resources available, including those provided by the senator, through social media and visual information throughout the building. I am committed open discussions where student concerns and suggestion are welcomed without judgement, and ensuring that they reach the appropriate channels for action.
