Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Hello! My name is Christabel Osei, and I am a third-year Computer Science student in the Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences from White Plains, New York. In addition to my academic background, I have had the honor of serving as the Vice President of the Organization of African Students (OAS) for two years in a row. Through this role, I have worked to foster community, create opportunities for cultural expression, and ensure that African students feel seen and supported on campus. As President of the ALANA Collegiate Association (ACA), I hope to work alongside my Vice President, Kifekachukwu (Kiffy) Nwosu, to build an ACA that is visible, inclusive, balanced, and effective (VIBE). We are dedicated to uplifting affiliate organizations, strengthening connections across the ALANA community, and ensuring that ACA remains a strong and lasting support system for students, not just for today, but for years to come. Kiffy and I are beyond excited for this journey, and we are ready to serve, empower, and advocate for YOU. Let’s make ACA stronger together!

Hello everyone! My name is Kifekachukwu (Kiffy) Nwosu, and I am a second-year double major in Computer Science and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I’m from Enugu, Nigeria, and have lived in Maryland for the past five years.  At RIT, I have had the privilege of serving as the President of the Organization of African Students (OAS) and previously as the Freshman Representative. I am currently a student ambassador for both the WGSS department and RIT Auxiliary Services and Marketing so if I look familiar, you may have seen me on RIT Dining’s page!  Now, I am excited to run for Vice President of the ALANA Collegiate Association (ACA) alongside Christabel Osei. Through my leadership experiences, I have learned the importance of advocacy, representation, and creating lasting support systems. With our VIBE platform, making ACA Visible, Inclusive, Balanced, and Effective. We aim to strengthen community connections and uplift ALANA students and organizations. We are eager to bring fresh ideas and meaningful change to ACA, and I hope to earn your support in making that vision a reality.

Platform

We want to create a VIBE for all of our affiliates.

V – Visibility  We strive to ensure all affiliates are recognized across ACA and campus.  Affiliate Spotlights: Feature one affiliate monthly in ACA newsletters to highlight events, members, and achievements.  Cultural Awareness Events: Partner with affiliates like ACS for cultural months, hosting performances, panels, and presentations celebrating ALANA cultures.  Executive Board Engagement: Require ACA board members to attend at least one affiliate event or meeting weekly.

I – Inclusion  Inclusion means fostering belonging for all, from freshmen to Greek life members.  Freshman Mentorship: Connect freshmen with ACA leaders and affiliates to help them build networks and integrate into ALANA and Greek communities.  ALANA Wednesdays & Monthly Events: Expand ALANA Wednesdays to focus on different aspects of the community each month.  Greek Life Engagement: Actively involve Greek organizations in ACA initiatives to strengthen community ties.

B – Balance  Creating a space where ACA’s resources and events support affiliates harmoniously.  Mental Health Week: Tailor programming to ALANA students, including discussions, resource tabling, and wellness activities.  Culturally Relevant Mental Health Resources: Partner with CAPS and wellness educators to provide workshops and healing circles on topics like identity and microaggressions.  ACA Office Revamp: Redesign the office with comfortable seating, snacks, and ALANA-inspired artwork to create a welcoming space for students.

E – Effectivity  Optimizing ACA’s platforms and resources for better accessibility and engagement.    Website Revamp: Turn the site into a central hub for resources, events, and initiatives.

Social Media Engagement: Use platforms for real-time updates, event promotions, and affiliate spotlights.
