Business student emceeing for ‘Clubs Got Talent’

Third-year student Geoffrey Blosat will be emceeing “Clubs Got Talent” on Feb. 15.

Geoff Blosat, a third-year international business student, will be this year’s emcee for the annual event, Clubs Got Talent. He encourages students to get involved with activities on RIT’s campus, including events like these. Clubs Got Talent is a way to celebrate the more than 300 talented clubs that RIT has to offer. There will be performances by 18 of RIT’s student-run clubs, all judged by a panel of RIT celebrity judges, as the clubs compete to win $500 and bragging rights. The event will be held on Feb. 15, at 6 p.m., in the Ingle Auditorium.

Question: Where are you from?
Answer: Buffalo, N.Y.

Q: What brought you to RIT?
A: The co-op program and the fact that RIT was so focused on helping its students land a career.

Q: What has been your favorite memory of RIT so far?
A: My trip to Dubai last year with the RIT Honors Program.

Q: What organizations are you involved with at RIT?
A: I am a member of the Honors Program, a resident advisor with the Center for Residence Life, a member of the Delta Sigma Pi fraternity and a member of RIT SportsZone.

Q: What would you like to tell the RIT community about the event “Clubs Got Talent?”
A: It is going to be a great way to see members of your favorite clubs express themselves in very fun and creative ways. It’s open to the public and will definitely leave a smile on your face.

Q: How did you get involved with it and what is your role?
A: I am the emcee. It will be the first time that I’ve ever emceed an event and I’m very excited about it. I was asked to do it by my supervisor, Sarah Griffith, assistant director of clubs and community outreach, because she thought I would be the right person for the job. I am very excited that she gave me this opportunity and I know that not only the clubs, but also the attendees, will have a great time.

Q: What advice do you have for other RIT students?
A: You probably hear it a lot, but get involved. Join organizations. See what your friends are up to. Attend seminars and conferences on campus. Diversify yourself. It will open up the door to many opportunities and you will become a better person. You will meet new faces and people who will change your life.

Q: What are your plans for after graduation?
A: Good question. I am looking forward to getting involved in the corporate world and becoming involved with marketing in some way for a global company. My dream would be to have that company be in the sports or music industry, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that things work out.
