RIT listed as one of 2020’s most promising places to work in student affairs

A national publication is recognizing Rochester Institute of Technology’s Division of Student Affairs for its diverse and positive work environment. Diverse: Issues In Higher Education named RIT to its seventh annual report of “The Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs.”

With a focus on workplace diversity, staffing practices and work environment, the research uses a web-based survey approach to examine categories such as family friendliness, salary/benefits and professional development opportunities, to name a few.

“We are honored to receive this recognition and are cognizant that there is much more we can, and will, do to create an inclusive and supportive environment for our staff to thrive,” said Sandra Johnson, RIT’s senior vice president for Student Affairs.

RIT is one of 27 colleges and universities to make the list, which will be published in the March 5 edition of the magazine. The winners will be recognized during the American College Personnel Association’s annual meeting on March 2-5 in Nashville, Tenn.
