REMADE Institute, led in part by RIT, this week is hosting the inaugural REMADE Circular Economy Technology Summit and Conference in Washington, D.C., showcasing promising strategies and technologies for accelerating the adoption of a circular economy.

A national institute led in part by RIT marked five years of accelerating the transition to a circular economy in the United States in 2022. The REMADE Institute, founded in 2017 by the U.S. Department of Energy with an initial investment of $140 million, has grown to nearly 160 current members.

Nabil Nasr, associate provost and director of RIT’s Golisano Institute for Sustainability, joined delegates from around the world—including more than 100 heads of state—in Egypt this week for COP27, the United Nations Climate Change Conference.

Thought leaders and executives from around the world gathered in Rochester earlier this week for the fifth RIC-RIT World Remanufacturing Conference, which highlighted how “reman” is contributing toward a more sustainable future in the United States and beyond.
