About the Project

Operation Tiger Cloud Background

An Aging Platform

RIT implemented Oracle eBusiness Suite (also known as Oracle, myInfo, and /or Ebiz) in 1998, and it is approaching end-of-life, posing a risk to employee and university data security. The university is replacing Oracle E-Business Suite, our current Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool, which helps the university keep track of both the people and monetary resources to help us better budget, pay, plan, attract, develop, and retain employees across the organization, and fund new projects that support our faculty, staff, and student populations. As an RIT employee, you use our ERP to view your paystub, sign up for benefits, submit an expense reimbursement, or update your personal information. Depending on your role, you may also use it to approve expense reports, invoices, and time off.

A Modern Solution

The RFP to replace Oracle eBusiness Suite was released September 13th, 2023. In January of 2024, we announced the winning bidder, Workday. After an extensive selection process, RIT selected Accenture as our implementation partner to drive positive change for the future. Accenture provides expertise and a methodology to ensure we make the right business process decisions for RIT.

The Workday Implementation began in Summer 2024 and is expected to take approximately two years to roll out, with the primary launch of HR and Finance modules on January 1, 2026.

Our Guiding Principles for Decision-Making

We use these project guiding principles to ensure:
Consistent Decision-Making: drive consistent, aligned decisions, especially when faced with challenges or conflicting choices.
Team Alignment: align all stakeholders, including team members, sponsors, and clients, with the vision and approach.

  • Engage stakeholders in all phases through reciprocal change management and communication to ensure RIT community is operational at launch and beyond.
  • As common as possible, as different as necessary.
  • Align solutions to university goals and user needs.
  • Adopt a "Workday First" approach:
    • Consolidate and simplify systems, processes and integrations.
    • Create a trusted single source of record
    • Structure data for accurate, timely and actionable reporting.
    • Leverage leading practices.
  • Foster a culture of transparency and data-driven decision-making.
  • Crawl. Walk. Run.

This is how we strive to build a brilliant future, one Workday at a time.
