Message from AdvanceRIT Director | Fall 2024
As the year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible strides we have made together toward fostering a sense of belonging and supporting the retention and advancement of women faculty in higher education. I have watched the Connect Grants initiatives bring women faculty together over research, speaker series, and more importantly in fun events off campus.
I have also observed women faculty gather as a cohort to enhance their leadership potential and skills. We also had faculty across campus come together on the Voice workshop and the Allyship workshop to ensure we stand up for women and learn to support them. Through our AdvanceRIT Podcast series we have begun to enhance the visibility of women faculty and recognize their stellar accomplishments in our own small way. Your passion, collaboration, and resilience have been the driving forces behind the progress we are making.
The holiday season reminds us of the importance of connection and gratitude. I am deeply grateful for each of you—for your contributions, your commitment to equity and inclusion, and your dedication to creating an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.
This year, we have celebrated milestones as an institution, navigated challenges, and strengthened the bonds that make our community so special. As we look ahead to the new year, let us carry forward the spirit of togetherness and continue building a future where all women faculty can thrive.
