The President’s Commission on Women
Women’s History Month is coming up! To celebrate March and look at BeyondtheRatio-a celebration of the women of RIT, the President’s Commission on Women is putting together a month of events for the RIT community.
The President’s Commission on Women is an organization on RIT’s campus, composed of faculty, staff, students, and alums, that works to improve the quality of women’s experiences at RIT. The PCW works on proposing initiatives and strategies to improve the climate and culture for women on campus, exploring and educating on issues impacting women on and off campus, and supporting the recruitment and retention of women faculty, staff, and students.
Upcoming events that the RIT community can look forward to include the following; an Expo highlighting the women of RIT and the resources available, a reception to celebrate women with a keynote from Jen Gabriel, the Executive Director of the National Women’s Hall of Fame, and a Breaking the Glass Ceiling–a panel with Ellen Granberg, Anna Stenport, Phillippa Thiuri, Jacqueline Nicholson, Alesia Allen, and Doreen Edwards. Keep an eye out for the full calendar of events when it releases! We hope you will find time to participate in our Beyond the Ratio-a celebration of the women of RIT.
