Are you an associate professor, lecturer, or senior lecturer planning to pursue promotion? Beginning this year, Faculty Career Development (FCD) coordinates these workshops for all full-time faculty. The series includes three workshops: Strategies for Presenting a Strong Case Workshop: A Discussion with the Provost, University & College Promotion Policies, and Preparing Your External Letters and Research Statements. More information can be found on FCD’s website.
There’s still time to register for the third session in the series!
External Letters and Research Statements: Friday, May 3, 2:30-4pm
- This interactive session is for faculty preparing promotion packages to full professor and covers preparation of materials for external reviewers. Read more and register here.
In addition, Faculty Career Development (FCD) is facilitating the formation of peer mentoring groups for faculty who will be preparing their materials for promotion. P³ groups are formed by self-selection and preference. A group mentor will be provided upon request to answer questions as they arise and offer insights and advice (this person would ideally be a “thought partner” who has been through the promotion process recently). If you are interested in forming a P³ group with colleagues, email the team at FCDS@rit.edu.
