Andrew Goodfriend, MD
BS '88
Dr. Andrew Goodfriend is a practicing American Board of Ophthalmology certified ophthalmologist with OcuSight Eye Care Center in Rochester, NY. He received a BS degree in Medical Informatics from RIT with the highest honors in 1988 and an MD degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1992. He was named chief resident of Ophthalmology at the University of Rochester Medical Center in 1995 and was director of residency education for two years. Dr. Goodfriend has practiced at OcuSight Eye Care Center since 1996. He is a staff member of the Brighton Surgery Center where he also previously served as a board member. From 1999 to 2006, he taught at RIT as an adjunct professor.
At the University of Rochester, he is a volunteer clinical assistant professor in the department of ophthalmology. Dr. Goodfriend has served on the boards of Brighton Surgery Center, Rochester Eye and Tissue Bank, and the medical advisory board of the Sidney Hillman Health Care Center, a non-profit health center in Rochester that provides a wide range of health services to eligible union members and retirees of the Rochester Regional Joint Board. Passionate about creating a positive impact in Rochester's health care community, he has helped raise funds for Rochester Children's Dyslexia Center and Golisano Children's Hospital.
