Associate Vice President Auxiliary Services Finance and Administration
Kory Samuels, is a leader who draws his energy and motivation through meaningful connections with people. This is what drew him to career in the higher education hospitality business. Starting his career as a student employee for RIT Dining, Kory has had the opportunity to take on progressive leadership roles for the past 17 years that have lead him to his current role as the Associate Vice President of Auxiliary Services.
Auxiliary Services employs a staff of 1,400 professional and paraprofessional staff that includes Housing, Dining, Shop One, and support functions of Marketing, Technology, Housing Facilities, Business strategy and Sustainability.
Having a mentality of continuous improvement and appreciation for the diversity and resiliency of people, has allowed him to collaborate, learn and develop others with the ultimate conclusion of positive connections with colleagues and customers. Kory’s ability to take on complex challenges with strategic patience and resolve has allowed him to not only absorb all aspects of people, finance, systems and operations; but has placed him in position to help as many stakeholders as possible.
Throughout his career at RIT, Kory has lead and/or been a part of numerous projects and initiatives most notably major renovations of Dining facilities and technology, creation of the Gene Polisenni Center dining operations, consultation services for universities and government agency food service operations. Kory’s commitment to student success lead him to be a mentor for the Men of Color, Honor and ambition (MOCHA) program and is an active member of the MIS Advisory board through Saunders College of Business. Additionally, Kory is a previous recipient of the President’s award for outstanding staff and the “Be great” award from student government.
Born and raised in Rochester, NY, Mr. Samuels obtained his undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems and Executive Masters in Business Administration from the Saunders College of Business at RIT.
