Many experts argue that to fully integrate people with disabilities into society greater focus must be placed on increasing accessibility in the workplace and in all public places.

Dana Marlowe, a founding partner of the consulting firm Accessibility Partners, is a leading advocate in attacking the challenge of accessibility and helping businesses, government and ordinary citizens affect change. She will give a presentation at noon Jan. 21 in the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences auditorium on the Rochester Institute of Technology campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Marlowe, a 1998 graduate of RIT’s professional and technical communication program, has earned national notice for her efforts to assist numerous organizations in improving access in their operations, while also conducting training programs to help managers better meet the needs of people with disabilities. Marlowe’s work with Accessibility Partners earned her the Rising Star award from Federal Computer Week and designation as one of the top 35 professionals in Maryland.

Marlowe’s talk is part of RIT’s Communication Colloquium Series and is sponsored by the Department of Communication.
