RIT Hosts Celebration of Innovation in the Arts

Reception showcases creativity and research in the arts on campus

Lorraine Justice, dean of RIT’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, will deliver the keynote address at “A Celebration of Innovation in the Arts at RIT” on Friday.

Rochester Institute of Technology’s continued commitment to innovation and research in the arts will be on display during a special reception at the university’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.

The college will host A Celebration of Innovation in the Arts at RIT on Feb. 3 in the Vignelli Center for Design Studies’ University Gallery.

The event will include an afternoon exhibition, which runs noon to 4 p.m., and an evening reception from 4 to 6 p.m., which will include a keynote address by Lorraine Justice, dean of RIT’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.

The event will include exhibits that highlight the innovative work of sculptors, craft makers, illustrators, photographers, filmmakers and sign language performers at RIT. It will also feature the work of world-renowned arts alumni including the seven graduates who have received Pulitzer Prizes for photography.

The event is part of RIT’s Office of the Vice President for Research’s monthly celebration of the breadth and depth of scholarship being conducted by RIT faculty and students. For more information about the event, contact Will Dube at wjdpop@rit.edu or 585-475-2816.
