AT&T Honors RIT Researcher for Creating Sustainable Design Curriculum

Rochester Institute of Technology professor Callie Babbitt is being awarded for her research efforts in reducing the footprint of the information and communication technology industry.

Babbitt, an assistant professor at RIT’s Golisano Institute for Sustainability, is being presented the AT&T Technology and Environment Award to develop a combined research and curriculum initiative that explores sustainable design of information and communication technology products. The award is worth $25,000.

RIT is one of three institutions nationwide to win the award this year.

Josh Jensen, public policy advisor for state Sen. Joe Robach, along with Amy Himes Kramer, regional vice president of external affairs for AT&T in New York, are presenting Babbitt with the award during a ceremony at RIT on Aug. 16.
