Contemporary Fine Artist and Photographer Todd Hido to Speak at RIT Feb. 11

Todd Hido first gained the attention of the art world with a series of color photographs of nighttime suburban and urban homes featured in 1998 in Artforum magazine. Since then, his images have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Eyemazing, Metropolis and Vanity Fair.

Hido will give a presentation at Rochester Institute of Technology at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 in the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

In 2001, an award-winning monograph of his work House Hunting was published by Nazraeli Press and a companion monograph, Outskirts, was published in 2002. His latest book, A Road Divided, will be released later this year.

Hido, who is based in the San Francisco Bay area, is also an adjunct professor at the California College of Art in San Francisco. His photographs are in the permanent collections at George Eastman House, Whitney Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
