Exhibit shows off RIT talent
An exhibit at a local art gallery features the work of more than a dozen RIT alumni.
The Honeoye Falls-Lima Alumni Exhibit at the Mill Gallery at the Lower Mill in Honeoye Falls opened March 4 and runs through April 23.
The exhibit includes work by 100 graduates of the Honeoye Falls-Lima School District, says Cameron Jones ’06 (visual media). Fifteen of those graduates also attended RIT and two are current students.
Jones, who has four pieces in the show, was an organizer of the event and worked with his high school photography teacher Harold Coogan to find Honeoye Falls-Lima alumni.
The exhibit is one of three organized by Coogan to illustrate the range of careers available in the visual arts and to show the impact the arts plays in the local economy. There also will be a show by graduating seniors and local artists later this year.
In conjunction with the alumni exhibit, local musicians will be performing. In addition, a book of artists has been compiled.
“I am elated that this show is finally happening,” says Jones, who is the print production manager for an advertising agency in New York City. “The breadth and quality of the work exhibited make me so proud to be a part of this community.”
Other participants are: Mike Battle ’02 (film and video), Bob Charboneau ’03 (graphic design), Cathy Clarke ’02 (graphic design), Melissa Heischman ’02 (photo illustration), Crystal Petrisak Herry ’04 (photo illustration), Rebecca Howe ’08 (photo illustration), John Kelly ’07 (film and video), Rob Klapka ’03 (new media design and imaging), Meghan Cardillo Larkin ’06 (photo illustration), Stephanie Piro ’08 (photo illustration), Lindsay Raymondjack ’01 (photo illustration), Amber Wing ’08 (graphic design), Natalie Sinisgalli ’07 (imaging and photographic technology) and Matt DeTurck.
