Glass Pumpkin Patch Ready For Harvest at RIT Fundraiser
Hand-blown glass pumpkins made by students and faculty go on sale
An annual fall tradition at Rochester Institute of Technology is back again as this year’s crop of one-of-a-kind glass pumpkins and gourds are ready for picking.
RIT’s School for American Crafts will hold its seventh annual fundraiser, the Glass Pumpkin Patch, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 8 in RIT’s Red Barn, on the west side of campus, off Minett Drive.
Unique hand-blown glass pumpkins, gourds and other glass items such as vases, paperweights and drinking glasses will be for sale ranging in price from $25 to $400. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted as payment.
The fundraiser is sponsored by the Women’s Council of RIT in partnership with the glass program at RIT’s School for American Crafts. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the School for American Crafts’ Visiting Artists Series as well as the Women’s Council scholarships.
