Graphic Design in the Community - The Music is Art Festival

Professor Carol Fillip had some enthusiastic assistance from Professor Lorrie Frear and a hard-working team of RIT Honors Program students at the Music is Art Festival on Festival on September 15, 2012 in Buffalo. The RIT crew was on hand to help younger festival attendees decorate hats donated by New Era Cap Company, create magic wands from real drumsticks and have their faces painted by the RIT crew. They also led several energetic parades around the festival site during the one-day event.

Music is Art, a not for profit organization founded in 2004 by Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robby Takac, operates through a board of directors, staff, partner organizations, sponsors and volunteers. The organization is dedicated to exploring and reshaping music¹s cultural, social, and educational impact on our community and is supported by a variety of educational programs, concerts and events. The annual Festival is just one of the community based program initiatives ‹ bringing a crowd of 20,000+.
