Ranking rates RIT’s SOD as a top design school
RIT’s School of Design is one of the top places in the country for students to learn design, according to niche.com.
Based on key statistics and student reviews using data from the U.S. Department of Education, the website ranked the CAD school 15th in terms of best colleges for design in America in 2017.
The School of Design encompasses five undergraduate programs (3D digital design, graphic design, industrial design, interior design and new media design) and two Master of Fine Arts offerings (industrial design MFA and visual communication design MFA).
“This ranking is a further testament to the innovation and exceptional design education that takes place at RIT within the School of Design,” said Peter Byrne, the school's administrative chair. “Acknowledgement of the success of RIT and our school with this ranking is a great achievement and wonderful news for our students, faculty, staff and alumni. The design field is an important driver for innovative economic growth in our society and the hard work of our faculty, staff and students continues to be recognized.”
