2019 Graduate Idea Laboratory I: Soft Studio

First year graduate MFA students began their semester by visiting FilzFelt manufacturing facilities in Getzville, NY to learn about acoustical felt products and their manufacture. Once back in the ID studio, students researched, designed and developed acoustical felt products to meet FilzFelt's brand aesthetics. At the end of the semester, students presented their final concepts at FilzFelt headquarters and then experienced rapid-prototyping first hand on the factory floor by producing their final prototypes with the assistance of FilzFelt manufacturing employees.
