Artist Interview: Marcia Liu
August 24, 2020
RIT City Art Space's Artist Short Sesh features conversations with artists in the College of Art and Design about their work. The artist interview series, started by Gallery Director John Aäsp, originally launched on Instagram.
In the third episode, Marcia Liu '20 MFA (Fine Arts Studio) compares art school in Shanghai versus Rochester and shares her experience in both printmaking and contemporary sculpture.
"I wanted to go to another country to experience how people think and live, and (as an undergraduate student) I only learned printmaking," Liu said. "But what I always wanted to do is sculpture. Contemporary sculpture in the States is really good and I really wanted to come here to learn."
