Contemporary Jewelry Design
The fifth episode of RIT City Art Space's Artist Short Sesh interview series features Drishti Bhandari '20 MFA (Metals and Jewelry Design). She often expands jewelry, making use of other materials such as plastic, fabric and paper in sculptures and installations that explore themes of creation and destruction. Her work also features elements of personal and cultural identity.
"Even though I love creating and curating traditional jewelry, I've always been wanting to broaden my horizons and venture into contemporary jewelry, sculpture and installations — which I was able to do with the help of all the faculty and staff members, and the education I got at RIT," Bhandari said.
The Artist Short Sesh, started by Gallery Director John Aäsp, features free-flowing conversations with artists in the College of Art and Design about their work. See all of the episodes on RIT City Art Space's Instagram TV.
