Exploring Buffalo's Arts Scene
November 4, 2021
Denton Crawford
Each semester, Senior Lecturer Denton Crawford leads his Expanded Forms class on a networking trip to nearby Buffalo, N.Y., to experience the area’s art scene.
The visits include intimate looks at institutions through meetings with curators and gallery directors, allowing students to interact with and gather advice from art professionals. Traditionally, the class stops at Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Burchfield Penney Art Center and Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center, among others.
Students from various options in the Studio Arts BFA program, including Expanded Forms, Painting, Printmaking and Sculpture, regularly embark on the trips.
