Makerbot & Autodesk - sponsored project
Iterations & Connections
The goal of the course was to explore the iterative use of analog and digital tools in design development processes. Projects were sponsored by Autodesk and Makerbot.
A typical process using in this class involved students creating mockups made out of every-day materials and capturing them digitally via 3D scanning and photogrammetry. The digital models were refined in CAD and then 3D printed for further testing and refinement. The process was repeated multiple times as students continued refining their concepts. Key tools used in the course were Autodesk Fusion 360 for CAD and Makerbot Replicators for 3D printing.
