Motion Graphics Artist
After working as a designer at ESPN, Sarah Casale ’15 (Graphic Design) was hired for a motion graphics artist position at Optic Sky. She designs and animates icons, logos and transitions for the Rochester-based production company’s award-winning video and animation projects. Optic Sky has received many honors at Rochester Advertising Federation’s annual ADDY Awards.
“The Graphic Design program at RIT definitely helped prepare me for my career,” Casale said. “The foundation years learning all the basics of design and core design principles is unmatched by other programs and schools.
“On top of that, (adjunct faculty) Chris Lyons was one of the greatest professors I had at school. He was the reason I transitioned from a student to a designer by helping me improve my portfolio, learn how to communicate with potential employers and really find my path within design. Even still he helps me through major career decisions after I've been out of school for five years. I wouldn't be where I am today without him and the Graphic Design program at RIT.”
