Office Design
For a class project, Teresa Uhl ’24 (interior design) envisioned a co-working space for Rochester’s creative community.
She created UnityWorks in the Hungerford building, a well-known facility that houses studios of area artists and other local businesses. Uhl’s new space was imagined to highlight the creativity of the existing artists in the building while providing digital creators a playful space to work. She completed the work in Visiting Lecturer Kelly Jahn's Office Design studio course.
“Rochester is home to an ever-growing community of creative professionals who continually evolve the artistic nature of the city,” Uhl said. “Options for both individual and collaborative work space are accommodated with digital monitors and pin-up space to facilitate a productive work flow. The use of biophilia and acoustic control methods foster a comfortable environment for members.”
Uhl’s design was honored at the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Buffalo City Center’s Interior Design Awards Gala. Her UnityWorks project won the Collegiate - Single Contributor category.
