Packaging Design / GRDE 432 Chase Design and Paperboard Packaging Alliance 2023 Competition
This interdisciplinary course includes fourth year graphic designers and industrial designers who are joined for the Paperboard Packaging Alliance Student Design Challenge by Packaging Science students. This semester began with a project sponsored and led by Chase Design for concepts for artisanal hummus products. Five teams of three to four members participated in that project. Six teams each with three or four members participated in the Paperboard Packaging Alliance 2023 Student Design Challenge, with a total of 29 class members.
The PPA Student Design Challenge is an annual design competition in which attracts the top packaging design programs in the U.S. This year's challenge was to take any personal care product that is currently packaged in plastic and convert this to paperboard packaging with an added objective of addressing a community or humanitarian need. Each team selected a very challenging category of product to tackle for this project.
